CitationAssistant Professor in the Royal College of Science, London. Distinguished for his knowledge of Organic Chemistry, and especially of Camphor and its derivatives. Joint author with Prof Meldola of Researches in the Triazine Series (1891), and, with Prof Tilden, of papers on the Combination of Hydrocarbons with Picric Acid and on the action of Nitroxyl Chloride on Unsaturated Compounds and on Amides (1893-1895). Author of the following papers in the Transactions of the Chemical Society: - 'New Derivatives from alpha-Dibromocamphor' (1896); 'Camphoroxine,' three papers (1896-1899); 'Mercury Acetamide' (1898); 'Bornylamine,' four papers (1898-1900); 'Studies in the Camphane Series,' twelve papers (1900-1903); 'Infracampholenic Acid' (1901). Member of Council of the Chemical Society.
