Among shorter communications in the Proceedings of the Entomological Society are: 'On Seasonal Dimorphism in Neotrophical Lepidoptera,' 1898 - (first announcement of the occurrence of this phenomenon in South America); 'On the Scents of Male Rhopalocera, mostly Pierinae,' 1904 - (first detection and discussion of epigamic scents in many native species); 'On the Bionomic Significamce of Forms of Crenis, Pinacopteryx and Teracolus bred by Mr Marshall,' 1905; 'Epigamic Scents in South African Butterflies,' 1905 - (first detection of these scents in African species; discussion of their bionomic significance); 'On Wet- and Dry- season Forms of South African Pierine Butterflies,' 1905; 'On Geographical and Seasonal Variation in South African Danaine, Satyrine, Nymphaline, Acraeine and Papilionine Butterflies,' 1906; 'On the Reddish Coloration of Dry-season Forms of Pierine Butterflies in Asia, Africa and America; its Bionomic Significance,' 1906; - 'On Mimicry by the Pierine genera Eronia, Nepheronia, and Leuceronia,' 1906. Among Faunistic and Systematic memoirs is a discussion of Geographical and Seasonal Forms in the genus Byblia (Proc Zool Soc, 1898), and of Seasonal in relation to Sexual Dimorphism (Trans Entom Soc, 1903).
