CitationSince the date of the original certificate, Mr Stoney, in conjunction with Mr A H Law, was in 1908 awarded 'The Institution Premium' of the Institution of Electrical Engineers - the highest premium awarded by that Institution - for the paper on 'High Speed Electrical Machinery.' Much of Mr Stoney's work has been in this field. In February, 1909, he read a paper before the Royal Society on 'The Tension of Metallic Films Deposited by Electrolysis,' published in the Royal Society's Proceedings. In 1909 he gave three 'Cantor Lectures' before the Royal Society of Arts on 'Steam Turbines,' dealing with their theory and latest developments. He has taken out, in conjunction with the Hon C A Parsons and others, the following papents in addition to those submitted with the original certificate, viz: - Patents 16599/07, 27633/07, 6180/08, 17881/08, 6177/09
