CitationDirector of Pathological Studies and Research, University College Hospital Medical School. Actively engaged in research in pathology and distinguished as an original investigator in the subject. Has made numerous observations on the nature of gastrotoxin, and on the conditions of development and made persistenceof gastric ulcer (Proc Roy Soc, 1906-1907, 1910). Has specially studied experimentally the pathology of dropsy and has made observations on many other subjects in pathology, such as the changes in the central nervous system in experimental diphtheria; the occurrence of fluid in the abdominal cavity of pregnant rabbits; and on the blood pressure and lumph flow in a case of heart disease in a dog.
