Also the electrical and other changes accompanying the automatic or induced movements of animal and vegetable structures, and generally the effects of stimulation. His experiments are described in the following papers: - 'Electrical Response of Ordinary Plants to Mechanical Stimulus' (Journ Linn Soc, 1903); 'Electrical Pulsation Accompanying Automatic Movements of 'Desmodium'' (ibid, 1903); 'Automatic Methodfor the Investigation of the Velocity of Transmission of Excitation in 'Mimosa'' (Phil Trans, 1913); 'Diurnal Variation of Moto-excitability in 'Mimosa'' (Ann Bot, 1913); 'Researches on Growth and Movement in Plants by Means of the High Magnification Crescograph' (Proc Roy Soc, 1919); 'Life Movements in Plants' (Trans Bose Inst, Calcutta, 1918). Books: - 'Response in the Living and Non-Living ' (1902); 'Plant Response as a Means of Physiological Investigation' (1906); 'Comparative Electro-Physiology' (1907); 'Researches on the Irritability of Plants' (1913).
