Author of a paper on 'The Role of the Blood Fluids in Intracellular Digestion of Microbes' (Proc Roy Soc, Vol 89, B); and (conjointly with Fleming and Colebrook) of a series of papers on wound (Lancet, and Special Reports Medical Research Council). Author of numerous devices and improvements in bacteriological technique, including an improved culture medium which has largely superseded those previously in use.
