Actively engaged on researches in photochemistry. Has created an important research school at King's College. Widely known as an authority on photochemistry and electrochemistry. Author of important treatise on 'Applied Electrochemistry,' and of article on same subject in the 'Dictionary of Applied Physics.' Recognised as a leading exponent of physical chemistry in England. Rendered notable service during the War as Chemical Adviser to Headquarters Staffs of Second, Third and Fourth Armies in France.
