TitleJames, Sydney Price: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationDistinguished for his work on the natural history and epidemiology of malaria, filariases, leishmaniasis and other blood infections. As a malariologist he has world-wide reputation, based upon his many original contributions to our knowledge of the malaria parasites, the mosquitos which convey them, and the epidemiological aspects of the subject. All his work - both at home and abroad - has been characterized by accurate zoological and medical observation and a signal ability to make experiments and translate them into practice. His works on malaria in India and England and his monographs on mosquitos are already generally recognized as classics.
