TitleHall, Arthur Lewis: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationHas rendered great service during the past 30 years in making out the structure of the Transvaal and neighbouring territories; especially distinguished for his work on the igneous complex of the central Transvaal Bushveld, its metamorphic effects on the surrounding sediments and the related problems in the Vredefort Mountain Land. Has done much for the economic geology of the eastern gold-fields and the base metal ores of the Union.
