By his own initiative and often under circumstances little suited to scientific research the Candidate has carried out important and in some respects fundamental work on diphtheria infection, influenza, meningitis and the chemical influence of various poisons. He has been recognised as one who has done much to promote the health of the Royal Navy through scientific research.
