TitleKidd, Franklin: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionCitation typed
CitationDr Kidd's claim rests principally on his researches on the ripening of fruit. His work has involved a study of the development of the fruit from the bud, and also of the factors of the environment which control ripening. This knowledge he has applied to the preservation of fruit, particularly apples.
His work on the respiration of apples, on their climacterie amd their production of ethylene, and also on gas storage are particularly notable.
