CitationDistinguished for her researches on the productivity of the sea, especially in collaboration with Dr A P Orr. As a biologist she has contributed to our knowledge of the plankton in temperate and tropical seas. In collaboration with Dr Orr she has done classical researches on the nutrient/phytoplankton step in marine productivity and on the metabolism, feeding and respiration of copepods. Much of these joint researches culminated in their book "The Biology of a marine copepod, Calanus firrmarchicus [underlined] (Gunnescus)"
