DescriptionCitation typed
CitationDr. Kronberger is Deputy Managing Director of the Reactor Group of the Atomic Energy Authority and is responsible for all Research and Development on reactors carried out by this Group, which employs about 700 staff of university grade on applied research and development in physics, metallurgy, engineering chemistry and allied fields. Dr. Kronberger is a most fertile and imaginative technologist. He has deep understanding of science applied to all fields of nuclear power - reactor physics, fuel and fuel canning behaviour, chemistry of corrosion, heat transfer etc. He has a unique position in the Atomic Energy Authority in which he exercises deep judgment of the fruitful scientific lines to pursue, contributes many ideas and devises their experimental testing. His leadership of large teams is quite outstanding. His wide responsibilities now give him no opportunity for personal research. He showed his research ability both in theory and practice in earlier work on isotope separation with uranium and light metals. He made most important contributions in this field, and exhibited great ability in extending his research by devising experimental rigs to establish the characteristics of production plants.
