DescriptionCitation typed
CitationDr. Taylor is the leading plasma theorist in Britain. He has published important work on many aspects of plasma physics and in particular he has done substantial work on the theory of diffusion in plasmas, has revolutionized the study of stability in magnetic wells by the introduction of action angle variables, and has produced the general theory of adiabatic invariants and plasma stability. Outside strict plasma physics Taylor has proved a key theorem in the theory of geomagnetic dynamos.
