CitationProfessor Domb has consistently maintained his position as an international figure in research in statistical mechanics. He has initiated and maintained the study of critical phenomena by synthesizing the mathematical structure of thermodynamic functions from their series expansions. Recently his work has made progress on the nature of polymer size and collapse as a function of interaction forces, and initiated a new program on the statistical mechanics of spin glasses and related phenomena.
His work is characterized by its completeness and accuracy, and always achieves the status of being authoritative.
