Title | Clark, Robin Jon Hawes: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Date | 1984 |
Description | Citation typed |
Citation | Distinguished for his research into the chemistry of the early transition elements, particularly in the establishment of complexes of high coordination numbers for Titanium and Vanadium and their related congeners. More recent work has been directed towards the use of vibrational spectroscopy in the study of structures of inorganic compounds; with particular emphasis on the use of lazer Raman spectroscopy. Clark has established one of the principal schools in the fields of resonance and electronic Raman studies. His most important recent application in these studies have been to mixed valency complexes, with particular reference to linear-chain complexes of Platinum and Palladium. |
