| Description | Candidate selected by Council for Election under Statute 11 - Royal Fellow
At the Council Meeting of 5 April 1990, item 18, it is noted;
a. That, following the agreement of His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent to accept Fellowship under Statute 11, if elected, the President had given formal notice at the Ordinary Meeting of the Society on 1 March 1990 of the Council's nomination, noting His Royal Highness's contributions to and concern for science, technology, and higher education and research, through his Chancellorship of the University fo Surrey, presidency of the Britisih Association for the Advancement of Science in 1980-81, Chairmanship of the National Electronics Council, Past Presidency of the Institute of Electrical and Radio Engineers, and Presidency of the Royal Institution.
b. That at the Ordinary Meeting on 15 March 1990, His Royal Higness The Duke fo Kent had been elected a Fellow under Statute 11.
