TitleTaylor, Martin John: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date1990
DescriptionCitation handwritten
CitationDistinguished for his contributions to algebraic number theory. In particular, his establishment of the link between Artin rootnumbers and Galois module structure is one of the most exciting results in recent years. He has produced an integral version of Kronecker's Jugendtraum and has developed the Hermitian theory of Galois modules. His invention of the group ring logarithm has also enabled him to solve problems emanating from algebraic topology.
