Citation | Professor Rossant's contributions are to the understanding of cell fate, cell commitment, and molecular differentiation in mammalian embryos. She established when cells became committed to particular lineages and has defined the functions of genes in the development of the extra-embryonic membranes. She pioneered techniques in mammalian development to follow cell fate, and to monitor gene expression. Most recently, she has derived an entirely novel type of immortalised stem cell, the TS cell, from early mouse embryos |
