TitleBobrow, Martin: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionWord processed form - citation printed onto a label and stuck to certificate.
CitationIn addition to his scientific discoveries, Bobrow has had a major influence in the development of clinical genetics over the last 30 years, particularly in areas relating to ethics and safety. He has made incisive contributions towards recognition and use of banding patterns of chromosomes, contributed towards the identification of the DMD gene, redefined many clinical abnormalities using cytogenetic and molecular genetic techniques, and made major contributions towards the ethical and social issues surrounding genetic testing and genetic counselling. His leadership role in these areas has been recognised by his chairmanships and memberships of numerous public bodies, which he continues to serve with distinction. In view of these wider contributions towards science, I recommend that he be considered as a General Candidate for election to the Fellowship.
