DescriptionWord processed certificate.
CitationDavid Epstein has been for many years a world leading and influential researcher in low dimensional topology/geometry/analysis. He has resolved many long-standing central problems in these areas. His early work was very important in the development of 3-manifold theory. His works on hyperbolic and conformal geometry and related quasiconformal mappings earned him the Berwick prize and more recently in two papers to appear in the Annals of Mathematics he has resolved the central outstanding conjecture (of Thurston and Sullivan) in this field.
