TitleFrenk, Carlos Silvestre: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationIn the two decades since 1980 Carlos Frenk has played a major role in shaping our current understanding of the material content of the Universe, of the origin of the structure it contains, and of the way in which this structure evolved into the galaxies and galaxy clusters we see today. The numerical simulation and phenomenological modelling techniques pioneered by Frenk and his collaborators have now become the standard methods for calculating the evolution of structure at late times and for predicting the observable properties of galaxies.
