CitationProfessor Calestous Juma is an internationally-recognized authority and leader in the application of science and technology to sustainable development in developing and developed countries. His continuing original work focuses on analyzing the dynamics of evolutionary technological change which he applies to: advancing science and technology policy research; providing high-level science and technology advice; and promoting the conservation of biological diversity. He has been elected to leading scientific academies and received international awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to these fields. He holds a doctorate degree from the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex.
