Citation | John Holdren is today pre-eminent in the fields of science and technology policy. His contributions to our understanding of energy technology and the population-resource-environment nexus have justifiably received wide acclaim. By combining his expertise in those two subjects, he has shifted the focus of science and technology policy to the search for desirable and feasible global environmental change. Additionally, he has in recent years led the Pugwash conferences on Science and World Affairs. That involvement has brought him into close contact with his European colleagues. Holdren has put his scientific and political judgements to enormous effect in furthering deliberations on international security and arms control. |
