Citation | H. Robert Horvitz shared the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Sydney Brenner and John Sulston, for major discoveries in the fields of developmental biology and cell death. He has also made many diverse and important contributions to neurobiology, genetics, neurodegenerative disease and microRNA biology, which have been recognized by numerous other awards. He spent four years as a postdoctoral researcher in the UK and maintains strong links to this country. Horvitz is one of the key figures in modern developmental biology and genetics. |
