TitleDye, Christopher: certificate of election to the Royal Society
Date1 September 2010
DescriptionCertificate of Election
CitationChris Dye is the leading analyst of the large-scale dynamics of tuberculosis and its interaction with HIV/AIDS. He has established the use of epidemiological data for evaluating TB burden worldwide, building an evidence base of more than 40 million patients. This has allowed him to describe and explain the dramatic increase of TB in Africa coupled to the spread of HIV, the resurgence of TB in Eastern Europe, and the rise of multidrug resistance. Synthesizing theory and data, he has set international strategies for TB control. Dye has also applied population biology to address key issues for a range of other infectious diseases.
