Dyson is a renowned inventor, entrepreneur, philanthropist and supporter of science and engineering. He has espoused developments in science and engineering to improve capital goods and everyday products. He holds 1,138 patents, funds 50 scientific research projects at UK universities and conducts further significant R&D at his own facility which he plans to double over the next two years. He has been an outspoken advocate of science and engineering. The James Dyson Foundation is dedicated to inspiring young people in science and engineering by offering resources and bursaries to schools, to university students and to post graduate researchers.
