CitationRussell Morris is distinguished for his seminal contributions to the field of porous solids, for the development and application of state-of-the-art crystallographic methods and for the translation of his research from lab to market. orris pioneered the use of ionothermal methods for the synthesis of porous solids with unique features that could not be prepared by any other routes. He was first to demonstrate the use of porous solids for the controlled delivery of medially active gases, taking this work through to commercialization. His methods for solving crystal structure from exceptionally small crystals are used by groups worldwide.
