Citation | Ten Feizi is distinguished for her pioneering work on the biological roles of glycans having described their developmental regulation on embryonic cells, erythrocytes and leukocytes, as well as changes in epithelial cancers. She introduced the first glycan microarray system which has the power to encompass entire glycomes, and is revolutionizing the molecular dissection of carbohydrate-recognition systems in health, in infectious and inflammatory diseases and cancer. She is recipient designate of the 2014 Rosalind Kornfeld Lifetime Achievement Award of the Society of Glycobiology, cited as having developed one of the key transformational technologies underlying the current field of glycobiology. |
