Citation | Hugh Griffiths has a very high international profile as a leader in new Radar systems, where he is especially distinguished in Bistatic and Passive Radars that use broadcast, communications, and TV transmitters to illuminate targets. His extensive publications show experimental examples of Bistatic and Passive configurations which have awakened international interest in new applications, notably where improved spectrum economy and stealthy operation are required. He has pioneered new work on the analysis, modelling and measurement of clutter to predict the performance of both Radar and Sonar systems, and has originated a technique to improve spatial resolution of satellite radar altimeters. |
