Citation | Ilya Sutskever is a prolific researcher who has been a major contributor to several of the most disruptive advances in Artificial Intelligence. He co-authored the 2012 paper on object recognition that initiated the widespread industrial use of deep learning and he pioneered the sequence-to-sequence models that transformed machine translation. He cofounded OpenAI and, in his role as Chief Scientist, he was a major contributor to the GPT-3, CLIP, and Codex models which revolutionized natural language processing, the ability to generate images from text, and the ability to convert natural language instructions into working code. |
