1) November 1956- December 1957 medical report of the main party of the Royal Society Antarctic Expedition. Includes reports on: the effects of climate; the effects of sun; the mental effects of close confinement; ventilation; rations; bathing facilities; the physiological programme; dental work; disposal of waste.
Cases of interest include: septic finger; anxiety neurosis; disorder of vision; grand mal seizure; strained back; dermatitis; injury to liver; renal calculus.
2) November 1955-December 1956 medical report of the advance party of the Royal Society's International Geophysical Year Expedition. Report is signed off by D G Dalgliesh. Includes:
