DescriptionDisappointed not to have seen Menzies during visit to Australia - comments on Royal Society's links with the Commonwealth - discusses Society's decision to lease 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, money needed to alter interior of building, and progress of appeal - architect is Sir William Holford - comments on the new premises and on possibility of having dining room and lounge called the Australia Rooms - if Australian Government were able to help the Royal Society, it would have significance for British Commonwealth science - if Australia acted would try to interest other parts of Commonwealth in the project.
