Description | The past six months have been the most profitable that Herschel's boy has spent under Pritchard's care. Alex [Alexander Stewart Herschel] has much improved in Greek and in mathematics and has mastered the anayltic mode of conic sections. His conduct and mind have improved. In the next half term they will attack differential calculus and he gives details. Pritchard is looking at quaternions with interest. Lady Herschel's godchild [Julia Herschel Pritchard] is thriving. Herschel's boy has been in a room with a cough for the past few days, but is better. |
