TitleCircular letter from C [Charles] Pritchard, Bowness, Windermere, Clapham, to Sir John [Frederick William Herschel]
CreatorPritchard; Charles (1808-1893); British astronomer
Date12 January 1848
DescriptionBrief note stating that recommencement of [Clapham Grammar] school duties cannot take place, owing to damp weather and incomplete work on whitewashing and painting. He proposes to reassemble school on 24 January.

With an additional personal letter by Pritchard, stating that on Herschel's son's return, he should bring baggage to the Crescent, as Pritchard wishes to increase his opportunities. His older friends have been reading on equations during the holiday and if Sir John could help him, that would be convenient. He asks if Sir John and Lady Herschel, perhaps with the two young ladies, would stay at their cottage for ten days next Summer.
