DescriptionAt the last meeting of Council [of the Astronomical Society] an application was made for the loan of the manuscript of [Johann Wilhelm] Pastorff's sunspots, confided to their keeping by Pritchard. Council were satisfied with the applicant and the purpose of the loan, but they feel a scruple. He asks Herschel to address his letter on the subject to Somerset House.
