TitleLetter from C [Charles] Pritchard, Freshwater, to Sir John [Frederick William] Herschel
CreatorPritchard; Charles (1808-1893); British astronomer
Date13 March 1866
DescriptionAt the request of Council of the Royal Astronomical Society he gives thanks for the 'Catalogue of Double Stars', which Herschel placed at their disposal some time ago. This is of high value and it is proposed to print it in the next volume of 'Memoirs'. If Herschel would like to add some prefatory remarks, that would enhance its value. They are reluctant to impose labour on Herschel, and he will excuse the liberty of the request: but a few lines from him would have greater authority than those of any editor.
