Dr Goddard suggested, that it might bee tryd whether the water carried over sea in glass vessels will putrifie, as it doth in wooden ones. Hereuppon, the care to recommend the making of this Experiment to Mr Hill.
It was recommended to Dr Goddard, that against the next day the Experiment of Quicksilver and Water together, in a glasse Cane of five or six foot long, might bee tyryd.
The Experiment of breaking by weight a silver wire of 1/6 of an inch diameter, was tryd, but, there being a defect in the apparatus, order was given to the Operator to get it mended, against the next day, to try it then againe. '
