' Mr Denison was permitted to be present.

Mr Halley being asked about Writing to Monsieur Aymon ; promised to do so, as soon as he has that Gentlemans Letters, which Dr Sloane is desired to deliver to him for this purpose.

Mr Lowthorp was permitted to be present.

The Vice President said that he wa told lately that in Cornwall they have the Terra Saponaria, wherewith they can imitate the transparent China-ware.

The late Bishop of Corke said, that near his Lands in Connaught, in the County of Letrim, in Ireland they have good quantitites of Terra Saponaria.

The Vice President said that about the Forrest of Deane, between Herefordshire and Gloucestershir, they find great Quantities of Cinders at 12 foot deep, formerly used by the Romans; which Cinders are very useful in Fluxing the Iron, in the Works now in being.

Mr Halley said that the finest Cinabar is gotten in the Quick-Silver Mines at Triuli.

Mr Strachan's Account of the the Gods, Trees, etc in Ceylon; was read.

The proposals for printing (in Dutch) Georgius Eberhardus Acompliis's book concerning the Natural Curiosities of Amboyne, etc were read.

A Letter was read from Monsieur Geoffrey to Dr Sloane, dated May 15 NS it contained several curious observations of what passed in the last publick Assembly of the Academy of Sciences.

A Letter from Mr Krieg to Dr Sloane was Read. He sent therein the Impression of a Medal curiously taken-off, with white Wax and oiled over. '
