Description ' Sir John Hoskyns Vice President in the Chair. Mr Lowthorp and Mr Jones were permitted to be present.

The Vice President presented some Coins, pavements of Thermae, and Wheat, taken out of the Ruins of Ariconum otherwise called Kentchester in Herefordshire near Hereford. The Wheat was blackish and consumed. The Society gave him their Thanks.

Mr Hunt presented from Mr Bullock, the Impression of the seal, engraven by Mr Symmonds, wherein the house of Commons is represented. Mr Bullock was ordered the thanks of the Society.

The same gave, from Mr Bagford, a Ratt, which had accidentally been shut up in a chest at Richmond, and had been eating it's own Thigh, for want of food. Mr Bagford was Ordered the Thanks of the Society.

A Paper written by Sir Robert Sibbold concerning a Sword Fish lately cast up in Scotland, near Edinburgh, was read.

Dr Sloane's Letter to Mr Aymon was read and approved of.

A Letter was read from Dr Preston to Dr Sloane, wherein he gave an account of the Sword-fish abovementioned and he was ordered to be thanked.

Mr Hunt's Draught of the Sword fish taken in theThames AD 1694 was shewed.

Mr Houghton shewed some Curiosities lately brought from Vigo, and a large piece of Ambergriese. He was thanked.

A letter was read from Mr Wall to Mr Southwell, wherein he gave an account of the Czar's fortifying Archangel; he sending Boys on Board our Fleet to learn our customs, etc. He was thanked.

Mr White's Observations on the Diseases of the Indie's about Fort St George and Bencoolen [Bengkulu, Sumatra, Indonesia], were read, and he was Thanked. '
