Minutes of meeting of the 27 November, and the anniversary meeting on 1 December 1760 read

' The president acquainted the Society that on Thursday 4 December his Lordship attended by the Vicepresidents, and Secretaries, had waited upon his Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland, on the part of the Society: who had been pleased to give them a very gracious reception, to express great regard for the Society, to grant them the honour of kissing his hand, and to write his name in thre Register, as Fellow of the Royal Society. '

' John Gideon Luten Esq lately elected a Fellow of the Society, having paid his admission Fee, and also the sum of twenty guineas in lieu of contributions, signed his name in the Statute Book, and was admitted by the President.

Blanchard Esq also lately elected a Fellow of the Royal Society having paid his admission Fee and likewise the sum of twenty Guiineas in lieu of contributions; but being prevented frm attending to be admitted in person, it was ordered, that his name be printed in the new annual list.

A certificate recommending Henry Van Haemstede for many years Minister of the Dutch Church in Austin Friars, to be elected a Fellow of the Societey, dated London 27 November 1760, and signed by M Maty, C Morton, John Van Rixtel, and James Short, was read, and ordered to be put up in the publick meeting room.'

Giam Battista Albertini, Prince de San Severino, and Envoy Extrraordinary of the King of the two Sicilies, and Benedict Ferner, Professor of Astronomy at Upsal in Sweden, and Member of the Royal Academy there, two Gentlemen formerly proposed according to the statute, were put to the Ballot, and elected Fellows of the Society.'

Gifts;
1. Book entitled ' De Solis et Lunae defectibus libri quinque, a Patre Rogerio Boscovich e societate Jesu, ad Societatem Regiam Londinensem' presented by the author in person, and a translation of the 4th note of the book by C Morton MD Secretary of the Royal Society being the author's address to the Society was read.

Communications;
1. Mr Short FRS commnunicated the observations taken at his house in the Strand, of the Eclipse of the Moon on 22 November 1760. [Details listed]
2. John Ellis FRs produced a drawing of a substance called 'Encrinus;details provided
3. The remainder of a Memoir for the improvement of navigation 'Dissertation upon the Wonders of the Mechanism displayed in Animals, intended for the further improvement of Arts, Trades, Carriages and diverse wants of Society etc. ' by Mr Genevois of Bern were read.
4. Paper entitled 'The Cafe of Francis Newman, nephew and apprentice to Mr Newman, a Dyer in the Maize Southwork, who had left the use of his hands by cleaning Brass wire' by Mr Sam. Moore Apothecary of Jermyn Street read.
5. President informed the Society about a collection of curious and valuable fossile recently arrived from Russia, presented to the Society by Mr Schuvaloff FRS etc and a committe of Mr Baker, Mr Brander, Mr Collinson Mr Da Costa and Dr Parsons appointed to examine them.
6. Mr Ellis produced various acorns, tea seeds, etc which were sound after a voyage to and from America, previously enclosed in wax.
