' Dr Du Carrel, lately elected into the Society, having paid his admission fee, and signed the usual bond for payment of contributions; and having also signed his name in the charter book, was admitted a Fellow. As was likewise Mr Charles White of Manchester, a Gentleman formerly proposed according to the statute, and this day elected a Fellow; who paid his admission fee, and the further sum of twenty guineas, in lieu of contributions. '

Gift received;
A book entitled "Relation of a Voyage from Boston to Newfoundland, for the observation of the transit of Venus, June 6th 1761" by John Winthrop Esq Hollisian Professor of Mathematics and Philosophy at Cambridge N England for which thanks were returned and the book referred to Mr Short, to give some account of it.

Communications;
1. Reading of Mr White's treatise of 112 pages in quarto completed. Dated Manchester 4 February 1762. [Account given in detail].
