' A certificate recommending Owen Salusbury Brereton Esq for election into the Society, dated 11 March 1762, and signed, Taylor White, Charles Morton, James Comyn, Philip Carteret Webb, and James Burrow, was read and ordered to be put up in the publick meeting room. '

Gifts were presented from Sir Antonio Matani Pistoriensis, public Professor of Medicine in the University of Pisa;
1. 'Heliodori Larissaei capita Opticorum' translated from the Greek and printed at Pistoia, in octavoin 1758
2. A treatise upon the figure of the Earth; and another concerning Tumours of th Bones; also in octavo printed the first at Pistoia, and the latter at Pisa in 1760
3. A treatise concerning aneurismatic diseases of the Praecordia, in octavo printed at Leghorn 1762

Communications;
1. Read letter addressed to the President, dated Kinsale 25 September 1761 and signed L Nicola concerning two fishes of the Polype kind. [Account in detail, including three life size drawings]
2. Read Mr Foster's papers on diverse miscellaneous subjects, eg 'Worm in the wood', 'Copper Springs'', 'Concerning noxious animals in England', and 'Concerning the fur of animals' [Account given in detail]
3. Read a letter addressed to the Reverend Dr Birch FRS dated Barbados 30 May 1761 and signed Abram Mason, concerning an 'extraordinary motion of the sea, observed at Barbadoes, on the 31 day of the month of March preceeding.' [Account in detail]
