' A certificate recommending Dr John Bohadisch of Prague, for election into this Society, dated Leyden, Amsterdam, and London, and signed N S Allemand, John Alb. Schlosser, Martin Hubner, John Henry Hampe, James Parsons, P Collinson, C Morton, Emanuel Mendes da Costa, Thomas Birch and William Watson was read, and ordered to be put up in the publick meeting room.

As was likewise a certificate in favour of Mr Joshua Platt of Oxford, dated London, June 9, 1762, and signed P Collinson, Emanuel Mendes da Costa. J Parsons, J Swinton, and Nathaniel Bliss. '

1. A book in octavo printed in London 1762 and entitled "An essay on the Bite of a Mad Dog"from the author, Dr Peter Layard MD FRS
2. A book entitled "The answer of Mr Needham FRS and FSA to the two letters of Mr Bartoli, antiquary to the King of Sardinia" in French, printed at the royal press in Turin 8 May 1762 presented by Mr Baker FRS

Communications;
1. Read a letter addressed to Dr Birch FRS dated Jermyn Street 1 June 1762 and signed Samuel More, concerning reports from Dr Wolf of Dantzig the time of the end of the late transit of Venus as it was observed there by Mr Harow, with measurements
2. Read a letter addressed to the Reverend Mr Bliss FRS Savilian Professor of geometry at Oxford, dated at Oxford, 18 June 1762 and signed Thomas Hornsby, 'wherein Mr Hornsby applys the observations made upon occasion of the late Transit of Venus, and the observations by Mr Horrox [Horrocks] of the Transit of 1639, to determine the elements of the motions fo Venus.' 3. Read a letter addressed to the President, dated at Turin on 24 April 1762 and signed Edward Wortley Montagu, giving some account of the bust and inscription in the Kings Cabinet at Turin, concerning which Mr Needham FRS lately addressed a Latin dissertation both to this Society and the Society of Antiquaries.
