The President in the Chair

Charles Hackett as one of the Auditors of the Treasurer's Accounts on the part of the Society posted that,
At an audit of the Treasurer's Accounts held on Monday the 27th November 1820 it appeared,
That, the total Receipts for the year then closed including the balance of £1759.4.0d due on the olast years' account amounted to the sum of £4407.13.8, and the total Disbursements for the same year, including the sume of £2000 laid out in the purchase of Reduced 3 per cent Annuitius amonted to the Sume of $4177.1.5. so that there remains in the hands of the Treasurer a Balance of £230.12.3

The Thanks of the Society were voted to the Treasurer for his great care of the Society's Affairs, and to the Auditors for thier Trouble in examining his Accounts.

The President then announced the allotment of Sir Godfrey Copley's Prize Medal for this year to Professor John Christian Oersted, in the following Discourse;

Hereupon the Society proceeded to the Election of a President and Council for the year ensuing the Statutes for these Elections were read. Francis Beaufort and Henry Browne Esq were in the usual manner drawn Scrutators, and the Members gave in their Lists.
On examining these Lists the following was found to be the state of these Elections
