Description | Chosen by ballot according to the Statute, a Committee for auditing the Treasurer's Accounts, consisting of Sir William Petty, Sir Theodore de Vaux, Mr Creed, Mr Haak, Mr Vernon of whom three to be a quorum and to meet on 27 November at Arundel House to examine the accounts.
' The Lord Bishop of Sarum [Seth Ward] acquainted the Society that those eminent Citizens of London that had been formerly Deputed by the City and the Mercers Company to invite the Royall Society to Returne to Gresham Colledge viz. Sir John Lawrence, Sir Richard Ford, Sir Thomas Player, Mr Rowland Wynne, had upon occasion expressed that they Should esteeme it as an honour to be elected into the R: Society: whereupon he did now propose them all four as Candidates; and desired the Company to meet next week in such a Number as is Requisite to make an Election. "
