DescriptionA map of the ancient river Witham as reduced from the original, which was plotted from a scale of 2.5 inches in a mile from the primary station at Wiberton Roads to the Bradon above Lincoln; and likewise of all other rivers and drains of any note that have their outfalls into the same together with several of the parishes low lands and fens on each side that of consequence must drain by the said river ..... In this map is delineated in small circles at their proper distances as many of the station points of our levelling notes as its size would bear as they were actually taken on the spot by a nice spirit level. To this map is annex'd a scheme with proper estimations for the restoration of the navigation of the said river and the more effectual draining all the lands adjacent thereto by John Grundy Senior and Junior of Spalding in Linconshire, engineers, Anno Dom. 1743

The original map which is more than 6 feet long and 2 feet broad and contains upwards of 540 stations is lodged in the Town Hall at Boston where it may be at any time apply'd to. J Grundy Senior and Junior Delin. W H Toms sculp.
