DescriptionThe correspondence in this file concerns both personal and professional matters, and is cordial in nature. The earliest correspondence was composed whilst Professor Buttle was working at Riyad University, Saudi Arabia, before his return to England at the end of 1978, when he was invited by Sir John Vane to work as a Consultant at the Wellcome Laboratories. The file includes correspondence relating to compounds, specifically possible alternatives to sulfamethoxazole in Septrin, and sulphonamide (1978), and a biographical article by Professor Buttle, 'A Full Circle' (TIPS, December 1980), which also reviews developments in the world of pharmacology.
