DescriptionNine volumes of scientific letters and papers from various authors containing accounts, observations and theories covering a wide variety of subjects and disciplines. Sent to the Royal Society for discussion and possible publishing. Some items feature original artwork, figures and tables. The coverage of the volumes that make up decade 12 is as follows:

Volume 111: item numbers 1-25, read 24 December 1801 - 25 March 1802
Volume 112: item number 26-36, read 20 May 1802 - 8 July 1802
Volume 113: item numbers 37-42, read 11 November 1802 - 13 January 1803
Volume 114: item numbers 43-58, read 5 November 1802 - 23 June 1803
Volume 115: item numbers 59-73, read 10 November 1803 - 12 April 1804
Volume 116: item numbers 74-89, read 10 May 1804 -7 February 1805
Volume 117: item numbers 90-114, read 14 February 1805 - 4 July 1805
Volume 118: item numbers 115-131, read 4 July 1805 - 8 May 1806
Volume 119: item numbers 132-146, read 15 May 1806 - 26 June 1806

The dates given correspond to the date that the papers were read at a Royal Society meeting rather than the date the item was written and sent.

Each volume contains a list of contents which provides: a document reference number, author, title, extent, date of reading to the Society and place of publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions' as far as could be determined for each item.
