Description | Communicating tables of mean temperature observations, 1833-1838, at the Manse of Alford, Aberdeenshire, in Scotland. Each annual table contains monthly averages of measurements at 9.15am and 8.30pm, with means and high and low extremes. From 1835, rainfall or snow is recorded in inches. Ther eis an additional table of mean temperatures for all six years, and rainfall for four years.
In addition to the tables, there are some details of the instruments and circumstances of the observations, including [p.1]: 'The temperature was observed by three Thermometers that range very well together; one by Newman, Regent Street, which was sent by Major Sabine; the other two self registering ones'. |
